Kaharu Sumino, MD, MPH is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Washington University School of Medicine. Her research interests are  are clinical trials in asthma, comparative effectiveness research in obstructive lung disease, and translational studies in respiratory virus infection. She is the Primary Investigator for the ASIST clinical trial, a pragmatic trial in African American children with mild-moderate asthma which is evaluating the effectiveness of symptom-based management and the PEPR site in St Louis, MO.
