James Witter, M.D, Ph.D, FACR is a Medical Officer in the Division of Skin and Rheumatic Diseases at the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases. He directs the Rheumatic Diseases Clinical Program which focuses on patient-relevant clinical research and the design, development and execution of clinical trials and registries in rheumatic diseases in adults and children, such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, scleroderma, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, gout, inflammatory myopathies and vasculitis. It also involves ongoing managment of the Patient Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) and Enviromental Influences in Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) initiatives.
Dr. Witter is the Chief Science Officer for the PEPR initiative.
